Counting days to the 3rd WEBINAR “APPROACHES IN IMPLEMENTING SCHOOL SAFETY”

ASSI in consultation with ASEAN Secretariat and ASEAN Member States and collaboration with the ASIA PACIFIC COALITION FOR SCHOOL SAFETY (APCSS) & the INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION of RED CROSS and RED CRESENT SOCIETIES (IFRC) will be conducting the “3rd Webinar – ASEAN Safe Schools Initiative : Approaches in Implementing School Safety” on 30 August 2019 (Friday) at 10.00 – 11.30 JKT/BKK time  or 11.00 – 12.30 Manila/SG/KL/ HK time.

The webinar will have 4 speakers comprising :
1.       IFRC Myanmar (Mr Htoon Lwin Oo),
2.       Save the Children Australia (Dr Marla Petal),
3.       Plan International (Ms. Lingling Liu) and
4.       Associate Professor at Department of Social Sciences of Toyo Eiwa University Japan (Prof Aiko Sakurai).  
 
The speakers will present their best practices in Road Safety Education for School Children in Myanmar (collaboration with Ministry of Education and Private Sector); Multihazard Evidence and Consensus Based Action Oriented  Key Message – Public Awareness and Public Education; Gender and Inclusion School Safety; and Multi-stakeholder Coordination in Implementing School Safety- Best Practice in Japan.

The purpose of Webinars are to share sound practices, strategies, policies, and trending issues around school safety in ASEAN including education in emergencies ; the discourses around school safety to foster ASSI community of practices and disseminate existing resources and knowledge on school safety in ASEAN can be sustained; and to maintain a network of diverse resources in a digital platform in ASEAN.
