This selection of case studies aims to illustrate the three different aspects of how to ensure safe schools for children; the three Safe Schools pillars collected from 10 countries where Plan International works. For each pillar, you will find concrete examples of how it was implemented in practice. In line with Plan International’s strategic focus on gender and inclusion, this booklet also shows how girls’ and disabled children’s specific needs were addressed. Lastly, we showcase Plan International’s growing influence in global Safe Schools discussion, to push for not only stronger measures on continued education after disasters, but also for girls and disabled children’s voices to be heard.
