GADRRRES and its members will be conducting the second webinar focusing on COVID-19 and school disaster management on Thursday, 24 June at 10.00 – 11.00 AM CET / 3 – 4 PM BANGKOK TIME/ 4-5 PM SINGAPORE TIME. This webinar will be aimed to:

  • present the five steps of school disaster management (SDM) and how they relate to the-safe-back-to-school guide
  • share case studies to demonstrate how SDM is taken to scale in different ways
  • share existing work related to SDM in their countries to build off in the context of COVID-19

The webinar was conducted on 24 June 2020 and highlighted the important key principles of safe back to schools and presented the five steps to implementing school disaster risk management that advocates the education continuity and multi-hazard approach, not only natural hazards, but also pandemic, daily risks, violence and conflict. The webinar also shared experience from Nepal on SDRM and case study on how Bangladesh copes with multi-hazards recently: cyclone and pandemic. The recording can be access in this link.

This webinar is part of a series of webinars on Pillars of Comprehensive School Safety Framework.
